Dominik hung up the phone and sighed as he refilled the carafe for another pot of coffee. For once, he agreed with what his father said. Tonight, he’d get laid, one way or another.

****** Koichi spent the majority of his morning running errands that he had neglected to do during the week. The apartment’s tiny refrigerator was barren and the cupboards weren’t much better off, so after spending all of his cash on food for him and Noah he lugged it all back home in the hopes of catching a bit more sleep than he had managed the night before. Noah hadn’t been home the night before but Koichi hadn’t been able to shut off the shame at what he had done. Sure, shit happened, but that particular kind had never happened to him before. Noah was still gone before he woke and Koichi couldn’t decide if he was happy about that or pissed off that he had no one to talk to when he had finally decided to. Now that he found himself alone again he was still torn between the two feelings, though now it was laced with wonder at where Noah had gone off to for so long. Had he talked with Kristofer? Had the made up or broken up? They couldn’t have broken up because Noah would have been there, crying his heart out and making plans to toss himself into the bay. Of course Koichi would be there for him, patting his back and telling him to shut the fuck up. Because, well, that’s what friends were for, right?

Since Noah wasn’t there though that meant nothing bad had happened so Koichi tried to clear his mind and just enjoy the silence. Unfortunately it wasn’t long lasting and just as he got comfortable on his bed with the silence his door burst open and a lively Josh walked through it.

“Yo!” he said jovially and threw himself on Noah’s bed. “Where’s the fairy?”

“No idea.” Koichi mumbled.

“Guess what?” Josh asked, grin threatening to rip his face open.

Koichi cocked an eyebrow in question and waited for the other man to speak.

“I met a girl. She’s really cute too.”

“Oh yeah? Do you remember her name this time?”

Josh snorted and tossed a pillow at Koichi. “Yes, asshole. I do.”

Koichi sighed and sat up straighter on his bed. “And?” “Okay, so I was walking down in the quad and outta nowhere I hear, ‘Watch out!’ and suddenly I’m on the ground all tangled up with another body. After I picked myself up this chick looks up at me and scowls and tells me to watch where I’m walking. So I tell her to watch where she’s skating… did I mention she was rollerblading? Who does that anymore anyway? Anyway, we sort of started yelling at each other….” Josh trailed off and looked dreamily away.

“And?” Koichi prompted, not seeing how this could turn into a pick up story, even for Josh.

“Oh, yeah. So anyway, we’re going out tonight.”

“Name…?” “Oh, right. Her name is….” Just then the door opened and Noah walked in with a frown on his face and covered in paint.
